Shu Uemera x Maison Kitsune

My sister has been pressing me for what I want for Christmas, and weirdly I was struggling for ideas, until I saw this collaboration between two of my favourite brands. She Uemura have joined creative forces with Maison Kitsune, a lifestyle brand influences by the home cities of its founders (Paris and Tokyo) - their music compilations, fashion and cafes are always ahead of the crowd. I first starting listening to Maison Kitsune compilations ten years ago - think  electronic, eclectic and funky. I love their statement T-shirts and laid back aesthetic. The cafe at Palais Royal in Paris is a breath of fresh air, with exceptional coffee and Kitsune products available to buy. Anyway I digress…

The 2015 Holiday Collection follows in the footsteps of Karl Lagerfeld (his Choupette collocation two years ago was a bestseller); the Takashi Murakami collection was equally as appealing. Both companies are innovators in East/West trends. The collection includes two smokey eye and cheek make up palettes, two sets of flash eyelashes, lip laques, eye pencils, a glow creator, an eyelash curler and the classic Ultime8 Cleansing Oil. The packaging is bang on trend, incorporating a quirky colourful diamond shaped pattern featuring cultural symbols from both cities (croissants, kimonos, coffee cups and the Kitsune fox logo).

I’ve just ordered the burgundy eye pencil and the tricolour lashes. I’ll wear them and channel Paris and Tokyo cool.
