Felder Felder
Carrying on the ever-popular sheer trend, identical twin sister design duo Felder Felder know how to do elegance with an edge. Leather and lace featured heavily in the first half of the show as well as delicate embroidery on sheer black organza; models rocked full artificial (fringes) and big hair. There was a definite 70s vibe, which was accentuated by the metallics that followed, think silver flares, miniskirts, maxi dresses and biker jackets with nothing underneath - pretty fierce. The rock and roll was ramped up another notch with mauve mirrored shades and cocoa coloured faux fur gilets. The show ended with uberbright ruby and emerald furs (all non animal as the sisters are vegans, thankfully) which wouldn't have been out of place in Studio 54. Bang on trend, sisters.
Jean Pierre Braganza
Sometimes the devil is in the detail, and the finer points of Jean Pierre Braganza's latest show were deliciously wicked. Shearling was used to great effect on collars and stoles, the folding and draping on the maroon/claret coloured dresses was clever. Leather opera gloves were paired with many looks (I preferred the ones that stopped just before the knuckle). The palette was grey, camel, burgundy and black, with some very wearable graphic print statement sweaters and dresses thrown into the mix. The Jane Birkin 60s inspired makeup (by Terry Barber for Mac) was the best beauty look I've seen during Fashion Month so far - apply your false eyelashes to top and bottom lashes to recreate it. JPB is definitely one to watch.
Eudon Choi
I was immediately drawn in by the backdrop of the Korean designer's collection, red and grey stripes and blocks (I like a colourful catwalk). There was a strong architectural feel to the collection from the first look, with a large circular motif on a leather jacket and later on a checked trench. The most amazing tasselled/fringed scarf was another high point, as well as the well cut paisley print flares (do you see a theme developing)?? Choi does split sleeves/skirts well, and the gold satin which stood out in some mid section looks was also a winner. I also adored the two tone Mary Janes (I was delighted to see them today whilst walking around the Designer Showrooms) and the athleisure side striped pants which are everywhere right now. The final looks had a strong oriental/Japanese feel and featured interesting low pockets as well as an on trend bomber - asymmetry in motion.
Fyodor Golan
Fans of monochrome and normcore look away now, because this was a veritable kaleidoscope of gigantic rainbow proportions. A palette of midnight blue, mustard, neon green was the order of the day, with fantastic green ankle boots paired with almost every look. Athleisure stripes were seen again on collars and at the waist. The skirts were standout, the multicoloured print on the a line skirt and lining the asymmetric hemmed dress was covetable. Then came the cartoony, cutesy psychedelic rainbow brite pony prints on sweaters and in a fantastical pink quilted ensemble which the fashpack will surely snap up super fast. There were some crazy shapes, with sleeves starting half way down the shoulder. I adored the ruby red rose petal like skirt paired with a pink sweater. The finale saw some funky gowns, with sheer pleats and orchids featuring heavily - you would certainly get noticed in the neon green dress above. Then Messieurs Fyodor and Golan took a bow sporting their rainbow pony sweaters. Trippy.
