Heritage + Style at Bath in Fashion

I'm always on the look out for fashion events in the UK and abroad. I saw a tweet today mentioning this week long celebration of fashion in a city that has been on my bucket list of UK places to visit for a while. It didn't take me long to put it in my diary and start making travel arrangements.

The fashion pack are descending on this World Heritage City from 18th to 24th April - some industry legends are sharing their knowledge in exclusive talks - I personally can't wait for Tim Blanks in conversation with experimental designer Erdem. One of my all time favourite fashion photographers, Tim Walker is interviewing fashion researcher and author Ben Wild who's penned a coffee table must-have "A Life in Fashion: The Wardrobe of Cecil Beaton." Livia Firth, sustainable fashion pioneer and creative director of Eco Age Ltd will be interviewed by fashion writer Avril Groom, whilst design legend Dame Zandra Rhodes will discuss her life and work with Sue James, Editorial Director of Woman & Home.  If that's not enough to whet your appetite, Justine Picardie, Editor-in-Chief of Harper's Bizarre will be talking about her latest book on Chanel. Fashion illustrators will be clambering to get to David Downton's talk centring around his latest book "Portraits of the World's Most Stylist Women." Julien MacDonald will discuss his life and work as one of the world's most glamorous designers with Business of Fashion writer Colin McDowell.

Catwalks shows will be held at the Bath Assembly Rooms - key looks for SS 2016 will be shown on Wednesday 20th April and the cream of Bath's boutiques will present looks inspired by how a diamond reflects colours on Friday 22nd April. There'll also be workshops - you can learn more about wearable tech and make your own innovative piece, or channel your inner goddess and make a stunning headpiece with the Royal School of Needlework. Fashion Your Future will be chaired by a panel of experts chaired by Louise Pickles, who leads the acclaimed fashion course at Bath Spa University.

The event is sponsored by the Bath BID Company, which organises events to raise the profile of the city and attract visitors. I for one have been finally lured to Bath by this, and I can't wait to enjoy its delights!

Tickets go on sale on 22nd February - get tickets here
